Welcome to Next-Gen-Men

We are a group of highschool and college guys from Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Mebane NC looking to invigorate our personal walks with God through study and discussion, and to get out into our community. Currently we are engaged in a study of Philippians.

"Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not whether they be clergymen or laymen, they alone will shake the gates of Hell and set up the kingdom of Heaven upon Earth." --John Wesley

Past Activities

  • 28 October 2006 - more Habitat volunteering.
  • September 2006 - watched DVD biography of Charles Wesley
  • January 2006 - a time of prayer over friends we want to see brought to Christ
  • We were able to participate in the Angel Tree program in 2005 with a couple young boys:
    • On the friday before Christmas we gave them their presents. We got to emphasize that the things are from their mom in prison, and we got to talk to them about the true meaning of Christmas, and how gift giving at Christmas time reminds us of God's gift to us. God really opened a door for us to talk to them and hopefully will bless the words that were said. We're planning to invite them to the Vacation Bible School that Grace Reformed hosts in the summer.
  • November 2005 - cookout and football day with high school guys in church
  • October 2005 - watched and discussed "Jihad According to the Quran and the Hadith".
  • 10 September 2005 - finished shingling H4H house in Burlington.
    • This time we had some help from a professional roofer, so we were able to get the roof finished, including the vent-a-ridge.
  • 07 August 2005 - started shingling H4H housr in Burlington.
    • Shingling was a lot of fun, and a bunch of work. We spent about 2.5 hours again, and got half the roof done!
  • 23 July 2005 - painting at H4H house in Burlington.
    • Painting went great, we were there for about 2.5 hours, and got the first coat done on everything!

Community Outreach Opportunities:

So far we have been able to work a few days with Alamance Habitat for Humanity. Everyone involved with the H4H organization has been really appreciative for the mornings we have volunteered.

We have also been privileged to participate with Chuck Colson's Angel Tree program Christmas 2005, providing a small Christmas for a couple boys whose mom is in jail.
